The mosque village Yerikly

This mosque was built in 1905 according to design approved by the Council of Kazan province in September, 1903. The one-storeyed stone rectangular building of the mosque has two praying rooms and the minaret in the centre of its roof. The vestibule and two praying rooms are arranged to lie along the longitudinal axis of the building. The entrance was in the north side. The south facade has the wide semicircular corbel of the mikhrab. The walls are made of rough-hewn limestone. Its minaret was lost at the time of the Soviet regime. The shape of the mikhrab's roof was probably changed. Instead of a cone-shaped roof it has a rectangular gable roof whose corners project from both sides of the mikhrab. During the last reconstruction the north facade was attached by the brick annex, which expanded the vestibule. In our time the entry to the mosque is in the western side. In the center of the roof there is a wooden two-tier minaret. There are some elements of the classicism architecture in the facades' styling.
