The mosque was built according to the design approved by Council of Kazan province on August 10,1879.

The mosque is located on the high bank of the river beside the road connecting Kazan with Ribnaya Sloboda. It is an entresol mosque with two rooms and a minaret on the roof. It had two praying rooms, a vestibule and a minaret under a high steep hipped roof. The main part of the building had household premises on the ground floor. The entrance to the mosque from the north was styled with cantilever joist walls supporting a glazed veranda under a gable roof. In the first praying room to the right of the entry there was a staircase to an entresol supported by 4 columns. In the main praying room a cantilever rectangular mikhrab under a gable roof began with a semicircular arch. The narrow staircase leads from the vestibule to the minaret. Log walls of the mosque are sheathed with siding boards. There is a combination of elements of national architecture and architecture of classicism in facades' styling.

During the period of the Soviet regime the mosque's building was used as a storehouse and a club. It was restored and opened for visitors at the beginning of the 1990s.
