This mosque was built in 1876. It was on the establishment of the First Cathedral Mosque of the village Kamaevo (in Mendeleevsk region).
The mosque is located on the main street of the village. It belongs to a rare type of mosques with the corner setting of a minaret. The one-storeyed building under a high hipped roof is the construction with five walls with a cross wall dividing it into the praying room and the narrower vestibule. The south facade of the praying room has a rectangular corbel of the mikhrah under a hipped roof. The small framework of the entry vestibule is attached from the west. The three-tiered minaret with a parabolic dome with eight facets rises above it. The lower tier of the minaret is covered with a high hipped roof, from which arises an eight-faceted construction divided by a long-reach cornice into the third and the second tiers. Originally tiny cornice on fretted triangular corbels supported the circular balcony on the third tier of the minaret. A balcony's fence was not preserved. The mosque is made of pine logs. It does not have a traditional cornice. A large gab of the roof is boarded at a small angle with the walls. Interiors haven't been preserved.
The asymmetrical setting of the mosque, which is from three sides covered with a high hipped roof, the large reach of its cornices, the relief surface of the non-sheathed framework imparts romantic aspect to it. It is a rare specimen of Tatar wooden religious architecture.
The mosque “Tan” Mendeleevsk town
The mosque was built in 1993 according to the project by the architect F.R.Zaldrov. The mosque is situated at the crossing of Zelenava and Profsoyuznaya streets. It is a two-storeyed dome mosque with separate entries and praying rooms for men and women and a ground-based minaret in the northern side. The whole composition consists of the rectangular part surmounted with the eight-faceted dome and the three-tiered minaret adjoining its northern part. The entrances to the mosque are in the western and eastern parts of the lower tier of the minaret. The first floor places a wide vestibule with two double-flight staircases. The praying room for women with the rectangular mikhrab is in the south half of the first floor. The hallway with service rooms from both sides connects the room and the vestibule. The men's praying room is on the second floor. One can also get into it from the yard through the balconies and single-flight stairs. Outside the building the single-flight staircase, placed along the north wall, is leading to the basement with bathrooms and technical facilities.
The mosque has a low slanting roof with the eight-faceted dome on the upper part. The dome, which is opened into the room's interior, is supported by four square columns. Maximum height of the praying-room under the dome is 15 metres. The minaret has stepping arrangement. The corners of the building are decorated with blades and surmounted by a stylized eight-faceted dome with a gilded half-moon on a sphere.
