The second cathedral mosque village Nizhnaya Oshma

The mosque's design was approved by the Council of Kazan province on May 15, 1898. It was built on the money of the first-guild merchant Akhmed G. Khusainov (1837-1906). The design was made by Abdulla Mansurov.

The mosque is located on the plot with a large fall of terrain relief to the south. This brick one-storeyed mosque with a high socle floor has two praying rooms and the minaret on its roof. The entrance is in the north facade. It has the enfilade of the vestibule and two praying rooms. The socle floor with household premises has an entry in the eastern side, under the main praying room. The semi-circular corbel of the mikhrab on the blind south wall makes the mosque rather stern, like a fortress. The minaret is supported by the cross-wall between the praying room and the vestibule. The mosque is the typical specimen of a Tatar mosque with due use of relief’s fall and a good attempt to reach compositional balance by setting the minaret above its lower part. Its facades are styled with the use of the elements of classicism architecture.
