 The mosque village Tash-Kichu

This mosque was built in 1817 by the merchant Suleiman bin Nazir (d. 1837). The architect is not known.
In 1821 -1856 the prominent theologian Bagautdin bin Subkhan al-Mardjani (1787-1856) was imam-khatib in it. His son, the famous philosopher and historian Shigabutdin Mardjani, the imam of the Mardjani mosque in Kazan, got primary education at the mosque's madrasah. The mosque is situated in the centre of the village. It is the oldest one of all remained buildings. The mosque has two praying-rooms and a minaret in the centre of its roof. It is a two-storeyed rectangular building with household premises on the first floor and the enfilade of praying-rooms on the second one. In the vestibule there is the staircase leading to the second floor. The praying-rooms are separated by a thick wall inside which there are narrow stairs leading to the attic and the minaret.
The facades are built in the style of classicism. A minaret was ruined in the 1930s.
The mosque in Tashkichu village with its layout, arrangement and styling of the facades is close to the mosques “Iske Tash”, N11 and is the outstanding monument of Tatar religious architecture of the classicism style.
